Server owner guides

Everything required to run a Palworld server well: inviting players, installing mods, tuning the world and answers to the questions owners ask most often.

Connecting players

  1. 1Open Palworld and select Join Multiplayer Game from the main menu.
  2. 2Switch to the Community Servers tab and select the address field at the bottom of the screen.
  3. 3Paste the address from your dashboard in the format IP:PORT, for example 185.207.214.42:8211.
  4. 4Select Connect, then enter the server password if one is set.
  5. 5Create your character. Players who joined earlier keep their existing progress on the world.

Installing mods

Palworld mods come in two forms: packaged pak files that replace game content, and script mods that run through the RE-UE4SS runtime. Both are supported on our servers.

  1. 1Open your server in the dashboard and go to the Mods and plugins tab.
  2. 2Enable RE-UE4SS. This is the scripting runtime that Lua and dll based Palworld mods depend on. Packaged pak mods work without it.
  3. 3Download the mod from a source such as Nexus Mods and confirm the description says it works server side. Client only mods have no effect when installed on a server.
  4. 4Upload the mod exactly as you downloaded it. A zip archive is unpacked in your browser and every file inside it is installed together, so keep each mod in its own archive rather than mixing files from several mods.
  5. 5Each mod is installed into its own folder, which means pak, utoc and ucas files from different mods never overwrite one another. Loose files can also be uploaded together and are grouped under the folder name you give them.
  6. 6Review the installed list, where each mod appears as a single entry with its files. Removing an entry deletes that mod folder and nothing else.
  7. 7Every player who joins must install the same client side files for mods that change content, otherwise they will be unable to load the world correctly.
  8. 8Restart the server, then verify that it reaches the online state before inviting players back.

World settings

Progression rates

  • Experience rate controls how quickly players and Pals level.
  • Capture rate and Pal spawn rate change how quickly a team is built.
  • Collection, gathering and egg hatching rates set the pace of resource gameplay.

Combat and difficulty

  • Difficulty presets adjust damage taken and dealt across the world.
  • PvP can be enabled for arenas and tournaments, or left disabled for cooperative worlds.
  • The death penalty decides what a player drops, from nothing at all to items, equipment and Pals.

Bases, guilds and building

  • Base camp limits and worker counts define how large a settlement can become.
  • Guild size limits shape whether the server plays as one group or several factions.
  • Building damage and raid settings control how safe player structures are.

Operations

  • Automatic backups are taken on a schedule so a world can be restored after a mistake.
  • The server password controls who can join, and the server name and description are what players see in the community browser.
  • Restarting after a settings change applies the new configuration to the running world.
